Ottoman Empire

Beautiful Turkish Hammam towel of the late nineteenth century. Interesting weaving of linen and cotton bordered at each end by reversible embroidery in the Ottoman taste. Stylized flowers with foliage fully embroidered with gold thread, lame and cotton thread indigo, cream, green, yellow, salmon and white. Cotton fringes finely colorfull embroidered. Excellent condition and preservation.

Measures: 43 cm X 150 cm.

Excellent condition, and its colors are completely preserved. I have rarely seen such rich embroidered Ottoman towels. please note the reversible embroidery which remains a so breathtaking work !
